A system requirement is a characteristic or feature that must beincluded in an information system to satisfy business requirements and be acceptableto users. System requirements serve as benchmarks to measure the overall acceptabilityof the finished system.
System requirements fall into five general categories: outputs, inputs, processes,performance, and controls. Typical examples of system requirements for each categoryare listed in the examples that begin on page 115. If they use these as a guide, students should have no difficulty completing this task.
