Describe an idea for a short, journalistic video that includes the message or point-of-view you want to get across. Then write a shot sheet, which lists the types of shots you want to record. This list should include whether a shot is a long shot, medium shot or close-up and the subject of each shot. The shots do not have to be in the order of the final video.
