What will be an ideal response?

Social penetration theory explains that we develop intimate relationships with
others when we disclose a wide breadth of topics in an in-depth manner. Pat may ask
himself the following questions: Am I planning to disclose an appropriate amount of
information? Am I planning to disclose an appropriate type of information? Will I be
embarrassed if my disclosure is communicated to others? Can I effectively and
appropriately deal with my disclosure if it is not reciprocated? Will my disclosure place
an unfair burden on my partner?
