In a brief essay, describe the researcher-related and participant-related threats to internal validity. Choose one researcher-related threat and one participant related threat and discuss experimental procedures that could be used to guard against each threat
What will be an ideal response?

Students should briefly describe the researcher-related threats: experimenter effect, observer bias, researcher attribute effect. Second, students should describe the participant-related threats: the Hawthorne effect, testing effect, maturation, experimental mortality, selection biases, intersubject biases, and compensatory rivalry. See page 206-208 for a discussion of these threats and strategies for alleviating them.
