What two types of countries have low teen pregnancy rates and why?
What will be an ideal response?
The first type are the permissive countries. They include Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands. They have low rates because they are permissive about adolescent sex. Teens can easily obtain contraception and can talk to their parents easily. The other type of country are the restrictive countries. These include Japan, South Korea, and Morocco. Adolescents in these countries are strongly discouraged from dating until they are well into emerging adulthood and are seriously looking for a marriage partner. Members of the opposite sex are not allowed to spend alone time together. There is extreme shame brought to these teens if they break the taboo.
