Describe in detail two different rhetorical situations and the difference in appropriate language

for each.  Lastly, list and describe the types of language that are never appropriate for public
speaking.

You may use examples from your own culture and/or native language, but be
certain to explain clearly why certain types of language, words or phrases are inappropriate.
What will be an ideal response?

First part of essay should discuss the elements of each of the two speaking occasions
and where on the continuum of formality to familiarity each occasion falls.  In the
second part of the essay, the student should cover sexist, racist, heterosexist, epithetical
language, stereotyping, discrimination, oppression, profanity, slang, filler words, etc.
