When using shared virtual desktops or clones within an organizational setting, how can the user environment / profile be saved such that it is always available?
What will be an ideal response?
Microsoft servers provide the capability for users to move their profile between desktops through the use of roaming profiles. To ensure that the user environment is maintained across multiple sessions on different desktops, the profile is typically stored in a central location and cached on the local desktop. In order for user profiles to work properly the shared folder containing the profile must be available, the user needs appropriate permissions, and there needs to be sufficient space for the user's personal files. To help facilitate this process, VMware provides a User Environment Management (UEM) component that can automate the setup of roaming user profiles across virtual desktop systems.
