Explain the relationship between short-range goals and long-range goals. Give examples of each
Short-range goals can be achieved in a relatively short amount of time; long-range goals will take a considerable amount of time. In order to reach a long-range goal, one usually has a series of short-range goals that serve as stepping stones along the way. For example, a student's long-range goal may be to become a physician's assistant. Each assignment, test, and course completed in the student's academic program represents a short-range goal.
