What are attitudes, beliefs, and values, and how do they affect a presentation?

Attitudes are learned predispositions to evaluate something in a positive or
negative way, and they guide thinking and behavior. Beliefs are what people hold to be
true or false and are formed like attitudes through direct experience, as well as through
media, public and personal relationships, and cultural views of the world. Values are
deeply held and enduring judgments of significance or importance that often provide the
basis for both beliefs and attitudes. Attitudes, beliefs, and values provide a speaker with
insight into how an audience may evaluate and respond to an issue, as well as how
audience members may view their relationship with the speaker.
