What is the Offline Data Transfer (ODT) service, and what features does it provide?
What will be an ideal response?
The Offline Data Transfer service allows for the transfer of large amounts of data securely between vSphere datacenters to vCloud Air. Using ODT, you can export your data to an external storage device that is provided by a vCloud Air operator, the data is then encrypted and stored on the external storage device, which you then ship back to the operator. Using ODT enables the vCloud environment to be seeded with large volumes of data from the physical storage device where it would be impractical to transmit the required data over the network. Once the vCloud environment has been seeded, only changes to the data need to be transmitted over the Internet, using much less bandwidth.
