Features of the habitats for the African clawed frog, tiger salamander, and common leopard frog:
(a) The African clawed frog is completely aquatic. It can tolerate high ranges of pH, and temperatures from
60 to 80ºF. It prefers stagnant or quietly flowing waters.
(b) The tiger salamander should have a woodland habitat with plenty of places to hide (and with access to a
water bowl). Its habitat should be relatively humid and should have a large area to burrow. Temperatures
should be kept between 65 and 70ºF.
(c) Leopard frogs should have a semiaquatic habitat. They should have layered rocks to get in and out of the water. The land area should have a soil substrate with several hiding areas. The temperature should be
kept between 60 and 80ºF.
