Explain when to use a secondary multiplexer.
What will be an ideal response?
A secondary multiplexer is used when two or more sources have lower data rates but the ratio of the higher to the lower data rate is an integer. In this case, sources with lower data rates are multiplexed with each other to equalize the data rate of all the sources that are attached to the main multiplexer. A secondary demultiplexer is needed to convert the higher to the lower data rate.
