Describe phenomena of extrasensory perception. What is the conclusion your textbook makes regarding ESP?

What will be an ideal response?

Telepathy is the ability to transfer one's thoughts to another or to read the thoughts of others. Precognition is the ability to foretell events. Clairvoyance is the ability to perceive events or objects that are out of sight. Psychokinesis is the ability to move objects without touching them.

Few research psychologists believe in ESP because researchers demand hard, scientific evidence rather than evidence from testimonials, which are based on personal beliefs or experiences and have a high potential for error and bias. Another reason researchers demand reliable and repeatable evidence to prove the existence of ESP is that some demonstrations of psi phenomena have involved trickery or questionable methodology.
